Over the course of the Clean Fleets project, we have worked with public authorities across Europe to implement the CVD and buy cleaner, greener vehicles.

CLEAN FLEETS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL POLICY MAKERS

Introducing clean vehicles into public fleets

These recommendations for European and national policy makers have been developed based on the findings and expertise of the partners in the Clean Fleets project, and in co-operation with Polis.  

They are aimed at facilitating the greater uptake of Alternative Fuelled Vehicles within Europe’s publicly owned or controlled vehicle fleets.

CLEAN FLEETS GUIDE

Procuring clean and efficient road vehicles

This guide is designed to assist public authorities and public transport operators in purchasing clean and energy efficient vehicles in full compliance with European legislation – in particular the Clean Vehicles Directive (CVD)4.

It is primarily targeted at procurers and fleet managers, but will also be of relevance to policy makers and   others involved in the transport sector.

LIFE-CYCLE COST TOOL

Calculating LIFE-CYCLE COST for clean vehicles directive

With public authorities and fleet operators in mind, this tool has been specially developed to calculate LIFE-CYCLE COST of vehicle fleets for the clean vehicles directive.

TRAINING PROGRAMME

Modular training programme for clean vehicles directive

As part of the Clean Fleets project a training programme on the EC Clean Vehicles Directive was developed and tailored towards trainers, consultants and experts in public procurement or leasing of vehicles.

First-hand experiences of fuel & technology options

This publication draws together information on the environmental performance, cost and practical aspects associated with 17 different fuel and technology types.

Experiences have been taken from over 100 public authorities and transport operators across Europe.

Guidance & tools on CVD Implementation

The Clean Fleets team carried out a review at the start of the project assessing existing guidance and support tools available at the European and national levels. This review is designed to help the project in the development of a CVD toolkit for practitioners and local authorities.
